There is a new and very interesting Afghan publication called Tasswir
being printed. Tasswir is a monthly newsletter containing news,
editorials, and poems in both Dari and Pashtu. Tasswir belongs to an
organization called Shura-e Muhajirin Afghanistan. The Shura has more
than 5000 Afghan members including people from all background and
ideas.Their concern is fighting for Afghan immigrant rights in Germany and
elsewhere in Europe. The offer free legal counseling. The Shura and
Tasswir are independent and receive only monetary support from its
members. The beliefs are very nationalistic. For example, they report
the crimes committed by groups in Afghanistan but do not name the group's
names. They say why create more problems between the people of
Afghanistan, and since so many groups are going crazy killing people...we
would forced to name everyone in Afghanistan. Tasswir tells really
interesting stories about Afghanistan and Islam. Unlike some papers
published in California where I live, Tasswir definitely has an academic
and intellectual persona. I recommend to anyone who wants to widen up
their perspectives, especially concerning Afghans living in Pretty bad
